Greetings,

Currently I have a B&W G3, PT 5.0.1 software/docs/plugs(all uninstalled), and a DSP farm card. I was wondering what else is needed besides either a I/O card or D24 card just to get PT to load so I can start familiarizing myself with the program.

3 choices: a PTIII card will use that version of PT I think. It must have a hard drive attached to the PTIII card. But a d24 or Mix core will be 24 bit and more voices. With only 1 farm you'll outgrow the d24 pretty fast, though. Don't forget that for any of them you'll need the TDM cable that bridges the core and farm card.
