Pro Tools Timeline Marker BUG issue
Hey Guys,
I'm having this weird issue with Pro Tools and I'm wondering if anyone else using a Mac has has the same issue. I am having a frustrating bug problem with protools in that the dialogue box to add a new timeline marker keep popping up while writing a new song. I am making no attempts to add any new markers on the timeline, nor am I accidentally pressing any keys, yet that dialogue box keeps popping up again and again. A few minutes ago, it simply kept doing it as many as 20 times in a row. when I move my cursor to click the cancel button, it disappears without allowing me to cancel creating a new timeline marker. Then as soon as I move the cursor away from the area where the box once was, it reappears for another marker. It completely disrupts my ability to use the program as all I do is fight to stop the new timeline marker dialogue box repeatedly rather than use this program. This started happening (before) the latest Pro Tools upgrade and now that I have upgraded, it's continuing and getting worse. It's getting to the point whereas I can't even use the program. Each time I open it, all I do is fight off create new dialogue boxes. Also, each time it disappears, it creates a new marker whether I want it or not and has so far created 30 new markers in the same location. Is anyone else having this issue and how did you resolve it? I'm on a Mac computer and I think this behavior really sounds like some type of virus or bug. |

Re: Pro Tools Timeline Marker BUG issue
you don't provide any details of your machine.
I have not seen that happening on any version of PT. it could possibly be a stuck or intermittent ENTER key? have you tried a different keyboard? I suppose it could be a virus, tho there are very few on the Mac.

Re: Pro Tools Timeline Marker BUG issue
Sounds like a problem with your Mac keyboard. It must be sending occasional Enter key codes.

Re: Pro Tools Timeline Marker BUG issue
Almost certainly some problem outside of Pro Tools - probably hardware, probably peripheral related. You've given no details for anyone to be helpful beyond guessing; wireless keyboard? wireless trackpad? hubs? who knows? Place to start: strip the system down to no USB/TB hubs, and try a different wired keyboard and pointing device.
