Protools 12.5.2 and Mac OS 10.11.6 Very reliable so far..
Protools 12.5.2 and Mac OS 10.11.6
Now I don't use Protools as a pro but have had some fairly long sessions and have found the above combo to be very reliable so far. I decided not to go to sierra for now because I wanted the plugins to get sorted out.. I recorded my band the other day had protools open all day from 11-8pm and no reboots or hiccups! I'm not recording more than 8 tracks at a time right now and I'm not using a click, midi nor am I at the mix stage where I assume I might encounter more challenges.. haven't done any editing,automation...etc That said my setup is somewhat unorthodox. 2012 Macbook Pro 15" 16 gigs ram 2.7 I7 quad Booting the OS and Protools running off a 256 Gb SD card and recording to a 960 gig internal SSD. Running an 11 rack Spdif'd into a heavily modified black lion 002. I have also have a 2011 MacBook pro and a 2011 mac mini, both with SSD card slots so if this mac breaks etc I can keep recording. Maybe tmI ")? What are your experience with this combo? I'm asking because I don't see a lot of people using this exact combo.. Last edited by fourthtunz; 11-14-2016 at 09:08 AM. Reason: clarity |
