Cannot launch ProTools 6.9.2 - "Quit Unexpectedly"

Hello,

I have been using ProTools for about a year (very casual user, not advanced by any means - still a beginner really). I purchased 6.7 LE and upgraded to 6.9.2 a couple of weeks later. I have an MBox and a G4 running on Tiger 10.4.8.

Today, all of a sudden, I began not being able to launch ProTools. Whether I tried to create a new session or open an existing one, as the session begins to load and the windows are being built, the application quits and I get the "The application ProTools 6.9.2 quit unexpectedly."

My MBox and Digi CoreAudio Manager seem to be working, as I can run iTunes and Safari audio through my MBox to my monitoring system.

I un-installed all Digidesign applications and deleted all files from my HD, and then re-installed my store-bought 6.7 version. I then downloaded 6.9.2 from the website, thinking that maybe if I started from scratch everything would work. Well I am still having the same exact problem.

Did you read the compatibility section ? 6.9.2 will not work with 10.4.8

You need to upgrade to version 7.x

No, I did not read the compatibility section, so I was ignorant of this. What's strange is that 6.9.2 seemed to be working fine w/ Tiger 10.4.8 for a while before it stopped working.

Is the upgrade to 7.x a free download?
