LKFS real time vs. audiosuite measurement not the same ??
I have to do tweaks to the loudness in a mix, but when I measure a small chunk (say a minute) of the stereo FULL MIX with Waves' WLM or Izotope's Insight 2
in realtime I don't get the same outcome as when I measure the same with Audiosuite rendering, although I'm pretty sure that was the case in the past. Point is I need to be able to measure a whole 1hr show much faster than realtime but the Audiosuite results aren't correct (they're lower), I know this because the QC report reads about the same as my realtime measurement. Is this a setting that has changed somewhere ?? I checked with some colleagues (all running on Mac OS 13.4 and PT 2023.6) and we get the same results.. Not that it should matter but I need to pass ATSC A/85 2013. |

Re: LKFS real time vs. audiosuite measurement not the same ??
I just did a test here with WLM real time and audiosuite and both results came out the same. How are you measuring the level in realtime? What signal path are you using?

Re: LKFS real time vs. audiosuite measurement not the same ??
I put a WLM as the first plugin on the FULL MIX record track and measured that in real time playback, then highlighted the first minute and did the same in Audiosuite (=rendered from the AS WLM plugin)

Re: LKFS real time vs. audiosuite measurement not the same ??
In my estimation, it should be the last plug-in on the master fader. Otherwise, anything on the fader after it will change the loudness. Compression-Limiting etc.

If you have other plugins as well on the record track, this will affect the file being recorded. |

Are you measuring an entire mix or just a track?

Re: LKFS real time vs. audiosuite measurement not the same ??
I'm measuring a stereo WAV of an entire mix. I have a plugin on that record track because I need to measure the result of this track, but I get the same result if I put a send there and have a WLM on an AUX somewhere else.
However, my question is still open: somehow I'm getting different readings using this (or whatever) real time method vs. Audiosuite. |

Re: LKFS real time vs. audiosuite measurement not the same ??
Could be mono mode vs multi-input mode in the AudioSuite plugin. Make sure the AudioSuite plugin is set to multi-input mode and check again?
