Default Software Update not working?

Hi,

I just did a new install of 11.1.3 (Mac OS 10.8.5)
I went to check for updates and SoftwareUpdater claims my PT is up to date.

But, when I go to Avid's website, it says 11.2.1 is available.

Is this a known issue? Is there something I can delete to re-jigger SoftwareUpdater?

Thanks,
skeeew

Thanks Dave and holler!
Good to know I'm not alone.

Wonder if anyone out there knows how to remedy this?

Trivial issue for sure, but it does kinda defeat the purpose of having a software update mechanism if you have to check Avid's web site.

There are a couple of reasons why a software update might not show up immediately upon release.

Usually, we give a new release a bit of "soak time" after release, even though it has gone through internal testing and beta group testing before release. Just in case there is something like a corrupt download or other unanticipated problem with installers.

It also helps spread out the load on the download servers if everyone is not notified immediately.

That said, I'm not sure why 11.2 was not added before, but I believe that the 11.2.1 release is scheduled to be added to the software update notification this week.

Knowing that, you may want to subscribe to the Technical Alerts forum, where all new releases are announced immediately upon availability.

To do that, go to the Technical Alerts forum at http://duc.avid.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32

Click on "Forum Tools" on the upper right side, and choose "Subscribe to This Forum" in the drop-down list.

Or you can subscribe to RSS updates to the Technical Alerts forum (see the top of the home pond at duc.avid.com).

Thanks for the info Bruce.
I subscribed to the forum.
I will wait and see if 11.2.1 pops up for me.
