Pro Tool 8HD iLok Licence?

Hi,

I'm asking this on behalf of a friend. My friend has:

• PT 7HD on a dual G5 PPC, OSX 10.4.11, with a 192 interface.

He wants to get PT8 HD so that he can use it (8.0.1) currently, on his G5, and then in the future when he gets an intel Mac Pro (8.1.1).

I can't find it to buy at the Avid store, but there's an 'Authorised Digidesign/Avid dealer' in the USA, on ebay selling New unopened copies for $140 USD.

The ebay ad says that it comes without iLok or plugins.


Is this talking about the actual physical iLok usb key or could it be talking about the actual iLok licence? I've contacted the seller but had no reply yet.

Basically, I want to know whether an un-opened, new, copy of PT8 HD will have everything needed to be up and running (i.e a licence) if you already have a PT7 system and a physical iLok key?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes it does come with an iLok license!

You need your own iLok USB dongle though.
