Default Link Listen mic to Talkback

I'm using a d-command with the xmon...

One thing that bugs me is that it seems that when I set up a listen mic, I can always hear it.
Is it possible to set up so I can only hear the listen mic(s) when talkback is active?

Yes. Auto Talkback will also trigger Listen mic.

So... when in stop, they are both On. When you press play, they both turn off. Use this daily.

Thanks, I'll try that. I did try to turn talkback on and off, but never tried to press play...

Turn on AutoTalkback, then engage the listen mic. When you press play, they both go off and when you press stop the go come back on!! Perfect! :)

Does anyone ever wish that they could send some of the listen mics back into the cues? I do.... and have them turn on and off automatically with the auto-talkback. Sometimes two players playing in different rooms need to be able to hear each other without me having to have the talkback on in the control room. And while we're at it, I wish the auto-talkback would disengage faster. Sometimes the artists don't get the first click of the count off. Of course the work around is to start a little earlier, but I'm jsut sayin it would be nice to not have to worry about that.
Does anyone else notice these things?

I do exactly that with a CR mic and a mic in the drum room. They come in on AUX tracks in the session and have a limiter(I run a fair amount of GAIN) and a side-chained compressor, fed from AUX sends on the click track and drum mics. As soon as the drummer plays, or I roll the track(to hear either drums or click, like during a record pass) those 2 mics get ducked 30db. I haven't touched the talkback button in months The CR talk mic feeds all the HP mixes only.

Yes. Same here.
When I'm playing back a song and want to record a musician who needs to hear all clicks (like in a 4/4 bar 4 clicks), I always have to disable AutoTalkback cause otherwise the first click won't be audible in the cue. And I'm always working in bars/beats.
Of course I will forget pretty often to engage it back again and will talk into nirvana while the musicians behind the window grins and says "I cannot hear you"

Just a workaround, but how about a 1 beat pre-roll?

Thx for the suggestion - but I prefer start on the "bar 1 beat" to avoid any confusion. It's no big deal - just sometimes funny people behind window grinning at me while I talk
