Hi, any 1 used a mac book pro with protools?

Yes it will work, my old setup was on a 2.4Ghz Unibody Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro...it should work like a charm.

What about the drive speeds? are they 5400??
or 7200rpm?? |

The speed of the internal system drive can be either 5400 or 7200. What is important for Protools is the speed of the second hard drive for the session files. That one (read as "external firewire hard drive") needs to be a 7200 drive. You should not record our sessions onto the system drive.
