Exclamation Re: Installing Pro tools LE w/ Vista

Looks like you are running Vista 64 bit. Pro Tools MAY work for some people on a 64bit OS, but it is a 32bit program designed to run in a 32 bit OS. First thing to do is get a 32bit OS.

And as I suspected, it appears you have ONE (partitioned) hard drive. You absolutely need a second drive that is for recording only, and again, they're only around $30 or so if you do some judicious shopping.

True. And that Jmicron F/W controller might not work.

One more thing, are you using the onboard graphics? I didnt see a video card in the san report. You need a dedicated graphics card.

You got lucky. (Temporarily, obviously...) This is typical with going against Digi recommendations, "It worked fine for awhile." Then all of a sudden it doesn't. When you follow all the recommendations, it'll work fine and KEEP working fine......
Just because it sort of worked on ONE PC doesn't mean it's going to work on a DIFFERENT PC. There's WAY too many hardware/software combination possibilities out there, and this is like comparing apples to oranges.

Buying an off-the-shelf PC, even if the manufacturer says it's the "latest, greatest" doesn't mean it's the greatest for Pro Tools. This is a very specific application and requires very specific hardware and operating system. Digi never promised that you could just load it on any old Dell and have it work. That's why the numerous pages of recommendations.
And yes, onboard graphics will give PT fits. So a dedicated graphics card is also a must, plus you need to get into your bios and disable the onboard AFTER you put a video card in.
