Default Can an Mbox2 be used with an iPad2 for Garageband?

I can't seem to find a clear cut answer on the internet about this. I'm considering buying an iPad2. One of the things I find alluring is that you can run Garageband on it if you have a USB adapter and powered USB preamp. I know Apogee and a few other companies make USB preamps which are supported by Garageband in the iPad, but I already own an Mbox 2, and I was wondering if this is compatible with the iPad instead of dishing out more cash to buy one of these new USB preamps. Any information about this would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

You cannot use any AVID hardware with an iPad currently.

Wow that's a bummer! Means I have to shell out $300+ for Apogee ONE, the CCK, and a powered hub on top of the $600 I'm going to spend for the iPad2 -.-

It sounds like the Alesis StudioDock is the way to go then for $200. Any thoughts?

Tascam iU2 is a cheap decent interface that comes with midi cables, xlr adapters, $149.

If you dig a bit deeper in to this i think it's case of any USB class compliant audio interface can be used with iPad. My understanding is that you cannot write drivers for the iPad but with class compliance there is no need.

The only interfaces i am aware of that are class compliant are some behringer mixers and the Allen & Heath USB ZED range, i'm sure there are more.
