6009 error and reinstalled LE 5.2.1 many times now mbox

digi worked fine as of last friday. turned on computer and get the message that software is needed for USB device mbox yUSB is not available.

I have unplugged the wire from mbox and computer and that usually fixes this problem. But not this time.

I have followed instructions per digi site and trashed DAE preferences and Digistudio and could not find install preferences

i have reloaded software multiple times each time restarting to no avail

if i leave the mbox unplugged i can get into digi studio and all the way to a file but cant listen to it or do anything

as soon as i plug the mbox in the computer says it is being used by a different program and makes me quit digi studio, then upon trying to restart i get the 6009 error when its loading and cant get back in.

anyone have any ideas on this one?

also

if i open PT with the mbox usb unplugged and get in, once i plug the mbox back up to the computer i get the message

"protools was not able to reacquire the hardware and must now exit . message id = -6009

i am stumped here

could it be the cable gone bad?

i have tried hot swapping to no avail

also the usb light on the mbox is not on at any time??

like i said everything was just fine last friday. editing and recording new tracks and such

then just out of the blue this happens

by the way am running a G3 with OS 9.2

i have been usin this computer with original mbox for several years now with no real issues till now

again protools version LE 5.2.1

also just completed a uninstall with a reinstall

when the computer is restarted the mbox displays the mic and line lights on green vor source 1

and the line led light on green on source 2

and the mono light is on amber

i have also switched usb ports with no change

i also get a message now when opening a file that says

The digidesign mbos peripheral is not connected to the usb bus please onnect it to the usb bus (-9135)

so i hot swap and

still no usb light comes on

close the file out reopen and see this new message

the a box says pro tools was not able to reacquire the hardware and must now exit message id -6009
