Upgrade Question
Three updates showed today when I booted the computer (Windows) up. One is for the Avid Link. One is for Sibelius and the other is for Pro Tools. I started using Pro Tools in 2005. The most recent version I have is from 2019 so I've never had to pay for anything. I am wondering if I will stay perpetual if I do what appears to be a standard upgrade from the Avid Link. I went on and upgraded Sibelius and the Avid link but I didn't want to click the Pro Tools upgrade if it put me into thw monthly pay category. Any ideas?

Re: Upgrade Question
Unless you have been paying for software support/updates any recent version of Pro Tools will not work with your license. Wether you upgraded your perpetual license or switched to a subscription would then be up to you.
Why do you have Avid Link installed? The common advice here is to never install it, or to uninstall it after a Pro Tools install. It's been buggy and problematic and you are likely better off just managing software installs yourself. |
