Problem with new MBox Pro

just unpacked a brand-new MBox Pro, installed the 8.0.4 LE from CD onto a Windows XP machine with VIA PCI Firewire and hooked up the MBox Pro once the installer asked me to. Then pressed power on and the MBox does not light up and later on ProTools LE would not recognise the interface. Anyone got a clue before I return this as Dead On Arrival?
It seems to be a hardware problem, because with only the power supply hooked up to the unit the Power On LED will not light up, although the powersupply is ok (measures 9.41 VDC with a Fluke multimeter).

Via firewire chips could be problematic!

OK, tested it on a MacPro and it does not power up! This seems to be a "monday model" I am bringing it back to the dealer tomorrow, what a poor quality control at AVID, they could have at least tested it for a quick power on
