Digi 003 and MOTU Traveler...would they conflict?
I just got the Digi 003 and what I am curious about is this:
I own a MOTU Traveler that I used to record before the Digi using ACID Pro and Soundforge. Now with Pro Tools and the 003, it seems like I can only use it with one audio program at a time. Is this true? If it is, can I re-hookup my MOTU Traveler and use that to run ACID and Soundforge with the 003 running Pro Tools? Thanks in advance for any help. Michael aka ISSUES |

Re: Digi 003 and MOTU Traveler...would they conflict?
Interesting... though I haven't tried this myself, I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to be in Pro Tools and also have the Traveler running Acid. Obviously, if the 003 is being used by Pro Tools, it cannot be accessed by any other program. Have you actually tried doing that? If so, what were the results?

The Digidesign audio drivers are all single client drivers. That means you can only use the Digidesign hardware with one program at a time.
You can try to hook the traveller back up, but I wouldn't be optimistic about being able to use it and the other programs at the same time as Pro Tools.

Re: Digi 003 and MOTU Traveler...would they conflict?
Success! I was able to not only re-install the MOTU Traveler, but use it simultaneously with ACID and Sound Forge while having Pro Tools open and running! The only hitch was that both 003's audio and midi have to be completely dedicated to Pro Tools. This got me very excited as Sound Forge in my opinion is still the best sound editor out there.
Right now I got this going on, on a PC, but I just placed an order for a super powerful Mac Pro, and will be testing this with Boot Camp and Parallels as well (I'm dying to get rid of my PC). Hopefully it will work. Keep your fingers crossed. |
