Pro tools 10 on win 7 unable to record

So when I try to record on pt10 trial , the track enables i get level on the meters but a window comes up that says unable to record on one or more tracks check disk allocations and permissions. All of my drives are set to record audio and video. I have tried all my drives internal and external , nothing.
Is this a feature of the trial version of pt10?

If I open a new session and create a new track I can't even record enable that track ??? and the dialog boxes only contain half the message (some of the words are missing ) This computer is very stable with all my other programs (samplitude, lightworks etc.) This is the 10 trail I was thinking of buying pt 10 but if this is the kind of quality and stablity I can expect ,
no thanks . Anyone have any insight?

also can't change inputs on tracks at all.
They all show up fine in the i/o settings.I can't select them or arm tracks . This all is with my motu 24i/o pcie 424. The hardware and computer are proven and perfectly working . Is the trial version feature stripped ???
playback works , any suggestions or is protools on windows a waste of time ?

10 actually runs fine on Windows 7(here anyway). Let's back up a bit. Is the Motu showing under Setup>Hardware as the desired audio engine? How are your hard drives formatted(the drive(s) you are trying to record to)?

now every time I try to open a session I get a message that says the sample rate is not set right and pt closes?
Yeah the motu is set up fine .
The drives work great on the hd rig.
There has got to be something else going on here .

roger that, pt 10 on win7 sucks ! in a glitchy kind of way .
