Default Cleaning Control Surfaces?

What are some different ways to clean Venue control surfaces?

I usually dust weekly with a paintbrush, and occasionally wipe down the fader section with a damp rag and multi-surface cleaner.

Just wondering if there were any other ways to clean and protect the surface.

we spray ours down with a 2" fire hose, really gets the dust out of the crevices. :)

Ok everyone needs a good chuckle--- :)

Aww fire hose, I just throw it in the back of the pickup and head down to the drive thru carwash. It cleans the desk and my truck at the same time. It's like a two for one special.

hehe

Don't clean ours. Helps it feel more like a vintage analog console.
Once or twice a month I rub bacon grease into it for more of that desired "patina". Mmmm... smooth...

A few beers give it the proper smell too
Soft bristle paint brush and a gentle wipe by spraying the cleaner onto the cloth.

A regular brush to get the dust off and a wipe down from time to time is usually sufficient. Being based in California and all we prefer to use organic, citrus-based cleaners.

Particularly dusty gigs may require a bit of extra work post-show, using an air compressor to truly get the dirt out.
