Feature Request: Disable Start/Stop with Space Bar

We have a crew going out on the road recording a lot of live gigs (with a Venue as FOH). They are using a monitor and keyboard switcher to toggle between the PT machine and the Venue machine. If anyone slips and hits the space bar while the keyboard is switched to the PT machine it's game over.

We need a way to disable toggling start/stop on PT with the space bar.

Just unplug the keyboard once in record.

First, there isn't a way. Second, if it's that mission critical, which of course it is, why are you even considering sharing. Seems pretty simple, don't do it.

I read the post. I suggested to unplug the keyboard from the PT system because I though no one is supposed to touch it during the show.
I assumed the switcher was set to the venue anyway so there wouldn´t be a danger of stopping PT fom recording.
Maybe I´m missing something.

Can you reach around behind the PT computer and pull out the USB cable that goes to the keyboard switch?

This reminds me of a feature request I've asked for before many times - which is an absolutely totally unstoppable transport safe mode for Pro Tools. Time code stops - transport keeps rolling. Space bar gets bumped. Transport keeps rolling. If I want to edit or adjust faders or do this or that while the band is tracking and Pro Tools is rolling, I can do it with confidence because the transport will never stop. If I try to do something that would interrupt audio or stop the transport, ie add a plugin or hit return, Pro Tools ignores that action and keeps on rolling. Only way to stop it is to do something blatantly obvious -- click a little lock/unlock icon in the transport window, and then everything goes back to normal. Absolutely safe transport safe mode. That's what we need.

This is a feature request. Unplugging a usb keyboard is not a "feature" imho ;-).

I still maintain the the spacebar is trouble. I'll give you another scenario. You are recording something live and want to add a Memory Location on the fly. Hit enter, and then type in the name but your hand accidentally glances "return" (closing the window), and you keep typing hitting the spacebar between words. You look up and everything has stopped.

There was never a tape machine that had a Stop button that also doubled as anything else. I'd just like to have the option of having the stop button on my D-Command be the only way to stop the transport.
