Default Re: 8.0.3 ASIO Drivers not working

Ok so I thought I found the problem.

With 8.0.1 installed I had a PT session open but minimised. I forgot it was there and opened up Wavelab, and got the same error.

But then I spotted the PT session, closed it down, and Wavelab worked just fine. So I figured maybe PT 8.0.3 isn't freeing up the hardware, so I installed 8.0.3 again and instead of running PT I went straight into Wavelab and it worked with the 8.0.3 drivers.

I shutdown wavelab, PT works just fine, and I can go back to Wavelab and that works too.

Thing is I can't get it to not work now. Looks like I had a gremlin!!!

HD supports Wavedriver, which was deprecated since Vista. So, system won't "see" it as sound card. For your ASIO issue, can you try re-registering Digiasio.dll? It should be there somewhere under C:\Program Files\Digidesign.

From command prompt, run "Regsvr32 <path to digiasio.dll>\Digiasio.dll"

If this doesn't help check the following and let me know what you find
1 - Check whether MMERefresh service is running. This should show in task manager when you look for all processes.
2 - In registry, look for ProToolsHD.exe key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths and check if it is pointing to a valid PT install.

Thanks,
