PT LE crashes when I try to import audio/midi
Every time I click on either one of these options, Pro Tools quits on me. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it some sort of extension conflict? Any insight would be much appreciated.

Re: PT LE crashes when I try to import audio/midi
I have also had crashes but they are unpredictable. Working all day with no problems and then PT vanishes but DAE stays open and the OS (9.2.2) kicks out a dialogue saying PT app crashed and to save in different location and restart. I can then shut other apps down except DAE and if I try to restart everything locks up. This will happen without all the other apps running (Korg Oasys, Samplecell, Reason). Crashes happen when I:
import audio, close a session, quit a session. Presently I have rebuilt my system, drive reformat, clean install of OS and basic audio setup only. I have not had the same problems but given the fact that the crashing was not predictable only time will tell. |

Re: PT LE crashes when I try to import audio/midi
What utility did you use to format your drive(s)?
-For all IDE/ATA drives, use Apple Drive Setup -For all SCSI drives, use ATTO EPT 2.3.2 or 2.8.1 (only use v2.8.1 if running Mac OS 9.2 or later) -For all FireWire drives, use the Special>Erase Disk command in the Finder. Additional suggestions: -Trash the DigiSetup File, Pro Tools preference, and DAE prefs (the entire folder) from the System Folder>Preferences folder. Empty the Trash and restart the Mac. -Rebuild the Desktop file for all drives in the system. Hold down the Apple+Option keys while the extensions march across the bottom of the screen during boot-up. Hold the keys down until you get a window prompting you and then Click “OK”. -Increase the Preferred memory size of the Pro Tools and DAE applications. Increase the DAE Preferred size to 90000k (90MB) and Pro Tools to 80000k (80MB). Never change the Minimum memory size. If you have, you can set it back to the default setting by typing a 0 into the field and press Enter on the numerical keypad. Brent |
