Default Pro Tools Midi control of Alesis SR-16 Drum Machine

Does anyone have any idea how to set up Pro Tools LE 6 and an Alesis SR-16 so that you can control the tempo and other parameters on the Drum module from within PTLE6?

All I can get to work is MIDI out from the SR-16, No MIDI in. I am a little new to midi.

Read the manual for the SR-16 and it will tell you how to do this. I'm only running PT 5.2 but have had no problem with the midi and SR-16, but be aware the SR-16 only transmits on one midi channel so there really isn't anyway to control all the parameters since it only transmits information to PT via Channel 1. I'm not super familiar with midi either, but hope some of that helps

Thanks!
I can get the SR-16 to send MIDI, and record it, however I can not get anything to work (MIDI wise) once I plug the MIDI In into the unit.

It sounds pretty limited (SR-16) though.

best way to deal with a drum machine and pro tools set both to the same bpm make sure the offset is the same put the drum machine into mtc sync mode and send it mtc from pro tools and hit play. down and dirty it works every time. you could try sending it midi clock (does pro tools even generate midi clock?) then the drum machine will slave to pro tools and play at the same tempo at least i think it ill. i use the first method with my mpc and it works every time.
