Default PT not launching due to iLok connectivity issues?

I am having some strange problems with PT not launching and either hanging on launch or going to an iLok window that says "Service Temporarily Unavailable (due to maintenance or other kind of outage).

I did just install two new plugins and I was about to launch PT to test them out, however I don't see why PT wouldn't just launch without those plugins or with those plugins in demo mode...

I did not notice that the ilok.com website is acting sluggish and not letting me log in there either, but I just can't imagine this happening when I am with a client and I need to get to work and I can't only because I have no internet or there is some issues with the ilok service...

what can I do?

Some, any, system info is a must, and you provided none. But a shot in the dark, if you're on Windows, (you didn't specify) make sure you disable USB power management.

I'm so sorry.

I am on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) running a 4 days old fresh install of OS X El Capitan and 3 day old fresh instal of PT HD 12.4

PT was running and opening fine yesterday.

Today I installed the latest versions of McDSP plugins and iZotope plugins and after that I can't seem to start PT anymore. I don't think it is the fault of the installers, it seems to be an issue with the iLok service...

I keep getting weird errors on launch... all related to iLok... I am attaching 3 screenshots of 2 scenarios:

Uninstall those 2 and see if it behaves again? Side note: I-lok was doing some year-end maintenance. Highly likely this is the root of the problem.
