Default Routing audio out from PT and back in

I've a great solid PT system with my M1 Mini. Only a few things didn't make the transition from intel. The one thing I really miss is Acustica Audio Silver reverb, because no algorithmic reverb comes close in depth and space to this sample-based reverb.

Acustica Audio is a mess. Bugs, support, business, I would have been glad to get rid of them if it wasn't for this fantastic reverb.

The problem is their plugins don't work with AAX on M1. Rosetta is the problem. So I tried to run Silver in the AU Lab application, and it works quite nicely. Now, how to get audio from PT into AU Lab and back, and use it as a old-style send-return effect. Shouldn't be too difficult?

Things I've tried:

Seems like Source-Nexus would do what I want, but it's $300, and this is not worth it to me.

Blue Cat Audio Patchworks; if I load the lugin as VST or AU it obviously runs thru rosetta2 and causes cpu overload and crashes like AAX. Doesn't offer the routing I/O of PT as far as I can see.

Loopback, Rogue Amoeba; almost, but not quite.

Routing out of sp/dif and in again to AU Lab, gets me half the way but is not a solution.

I thought I had a solution when trying to use a aggregate device in PT, never done that before, but it seems it's only for hardware. If it would offer a way to make a "virtual device" of AU Lab, then I would have ins and outs in PT to connect the Silver in AU Lab.

Any thoughts?

Hi Ben,
Haven't yet jumped on the M1 bandwagon but, with my venerable Mac Pro 5.1, I use Source Connect Nexus Control Panel.
As far as I remember it's about $40 and if you're not sporting an HD Native or HDX system you're good to go with aggregate audio and some virtual audio interfaces....
PM me and I can walk you through my system.
Cheers,
Luca

Thanks, Luca.
But I can not find anything like that on the Source-Elements Store

There is a subscription, $35 monthly, and otherwise just ridiculous prices.

Maybe Blue Cat Audio Patchworks would do it. Not sure.

No. I tried.
Patchworks simply doesn't have the capability to send and recieve, route audio between applications. As far as I can tell.

Wait, a minute. Blue Cat Connector might be what I'm looking for.

I'll get back to you after I've tested.

Hey Ben,

I was just about to mention Connector. I think that is your answer here.

Let us know.

An update to Patchwork literally came out a day ago that adds the ability to link into Connector.

AFAICS, this should allow you to host the plugin within the Patchwork stand alone app and then route audio via Connector back into PT.

Should do exactly what you’re after.

Thanks, Sardi.
I think I'm done with this for tonight.
I'm gonna watch Ruud beat Zverev in the Miami tennis, and then sleep.
We'll pick it up tomorrow.

And thanks, everybody.

Preliminary results:

BC Connector is certainly the thing for this. It lets you send/receive audio and midi between applications and even across a network. You basically insert an instance to send, and an instance to receive, in any plugin format. I think it's pretty uniqe to do this.

The problem is, it doesn't work very well. CPU usage, connection instability, dropouts, at least from my initial testing. I've tried it with the Silver reverb on both AU Lab and BC Patchwork standalone, and it works, just not well enough. I'd love to be proven wrong.
