Default i/o settings so that they not change

Hi!

I have starting using PT 12.1.

I open my sessions that I have recorded with PT 11.3. They open nicely with no problem, but they open with i/o settings they were originally saved.

BUT my i/o settings changes all the time. How can I set an i/o setting in PT 12.1 so that it always stays the same.

Thanks for your help!!

I know Pro Tools 12.1 has a new I/O settings menu, so I'm not sure if there's a new way to do this, but the way I've always done it is to Save the I/O config you want and load it as needed. Maybe a more elegant way exists, tho? Like a "force to default"?

Thank you for your reply.

Is there other possibilities to do this?

Every time you open a session with old settings, or with settings from another studio, you will have some "repair work" to do. Open the IO setup page and select the BUS tab. On the right-hand column, click at the top, then click a second time. That will move all output routing paths to the top. all that are in italics are non-working paths and can be deleted. Then double-check your usual main output(and you may need to rename it back to your normal path name). That should clear up most all the issues, and once you've done it a few times, it will go faster(and make sure you don't have it set to "sessions overwrite IO settings")

Albee,

I am running PT 12.1 with Mbox3 (no other interface or pre) apart my Keystation 49e that I run USB). What is your recommendation with the new PT12 for I/O settings? What configuration for INPUT and OUTPUT?

Is there something to know apart the PT10 or PT11 i/o settings?

Thank you for your help!

Kari

Nothing special to change between 10/11/12(for me). I name my Inputs for what preamps are connected(like Vintech1, Octopre1, ISA-4, etc. My outputs are labeled for what they feed(like Main Out L/R, Phones Drums, Phones Bass, etc)
