Please HELP! Can't open sessions!!!

I had a band in the studio tonite, we recorded 5 songs. The problem is that I went back to listen to the songs and Ican only open up 3 of the songs. The songs are listed but when I click on them some screen pops up and tells me to locate Audio 8_01. Please help, they'll be back in the morning! Thanks. [img]images/icons/confused.gif[/img]

Are you getting the pop up window asking you to search in different folders and drives? If so try the search options. If no luck,click skip all to open the session and see if all the tracks play back.PT is picky about how you store audio files. Name your tracks before you start recording. then they will show up as named and will be easy to search for if they get lost.Read up on the region bin and compacting selected tracks. Brad.

Thanks Brad, when I try to skip all that it says that it says it cant open it because it is an invalid Pro Tools file. I dont know. Ill keep messing around with it.

Can you tell if there's any difference between the 3 songs you can open up and the 2 songs you can't (different drive?did you do anything particular before recording the 2 songs that don't open up?...)?
Meanwhile, the first thing I would try, would be to copy (drag) those two songs to a different drive(if you do have other drives...). Try to open, see what happens.
Also use a session that works and import one of the supposed "invalid file"; check what the dialogue box tells you about these files.
