How to record guitar in Pro Tools and video in sync?
Hey guys i would like to make a video of some guitar covers so i can put them on youtube. The way i use to do it was to hook up my camcorder, record, then simultaneously record the guitar in pro tools. The thing is, i then have to bring the audio from pro tools and sync it with the video file in windows movie maker, which is not fun. So is there any way to record a guitar in pro tools, or even a 3rd party daw, and simultaneously record video from a webcam, so that theyre both in sync? I know you can edit videos with pro tools, but i dont have any experience with that.

I would suggest editing the video in MovieMaker to how you want it, then import it into Pro Tools as a .mov or .wmv. Then you can sync the Pro Tools audio to the video.

Quote:
Depending on your video editor, you may be able to export an audio track that you could load into Pro Tools. After you are done processing the audio, you could export it out, and re-import it to your video editor. Check out Avid's Pinnacle line of video editors. Some inexpensive ones will export in a recommended Youtube format. |
