Eqing
I am really happy with my mixes so far but again I am a relative newby at working in the realm that I am in now. I was making small runs of cds for my self and some friends, just to have an outlet. But now I am trying to put out a salable product.
So my question is... I am not adding any eq on my guitar tracks. Just recorded with the sound I want with a little reverb on the amp. My vocals are not eqed. Just balancing the levels with GAIN and adding a tiny bit of compression. I am eqing drums. I am not looking for validation of my mixes,(which is why I am not linking to them. If you want to hear them then please check the Post your stuff thread in the windows LE forum) but am wondering what you guys do as a habit. I realize that every mix is different but am I missing a "must do"? |

Re: Eqing
One thing I find a staple for me is high pass filters on a lot of stuff just to clean up the bottom end.
