PT 8.0.1 Crashes all time

hello,
everything was working smooth & perfect. but today the problems started from the launching process.

the first time, it took a while to pass the peripheral configuration. once PT was open, I was not able to click over the PT toolbar to open a file (the multicolour circle shows up) and after a few seconds PT crashed. no message windows, nothing

2nd attempt: I turned of command 8 and relaunched PT. This time the message was that a FW reset or FW cable disconnection was produced, that the cable or hardware must be reconnect and press ok. the 1394 led from the 002R never turned on.
by the way, I'm using an Expresscard FW 400 with TI chipset to connect my macbookpro 17" late 2009 exclusively to the 002R.
so I turned Powerd Card Off from the osx toolbar and a message window telling me that PT has lost communication with HW appeared. so the expresscard was working. I reconnected as mentioned on the window and pressed ok, nothing. I repeated this several times and nothing happened. so, force to quit.

3rd attempt: all cables checked with computer & 002R restart, command 8 off. this time the launching process was fast and 1394 led was on, but again I was unable to do mouse over on PT toolbar, the multicolour circle showed up for 20seconds and then gone. ok, I was able to click on File to open a session. once the session was open, the rainbow circle showed up again and then gone. then, every operation was preceded by 10 seconds of this rainbow circle, even scroll or zoom and when the space bar was pressed to play, yeap, rainbow circle and then the message window saying that again a FW reset or FW cable disconnection was produced. after that, PT crashed and left me. express card icon was always on the osx toolbar.

the session is a very simple one. 4 stereo + 2 mono audio tracks (some of them have EQ3 7) + 1 stereo aux track with Dverb. is a street sounds project. and the client wants it very simple and roots.

I need to work!!!!!
What happened from yesterday? I didn't touch the computer system or made an update or install.
airport and bluetooth port are always off, same for time machine.

MacBookPro5,2, 2.8 GHz, 4 GB, OSX 10.5.8 combo update
PT 8.0.1 (8.0.1f510)
002R + command 8

Have you ever replaced the power harness on the 002R? If not, do a DUC search for "power harness". Or just call tech support and get them to send you a new one.

no, never did that. and i didn't' think that it could be problem, but now that you're mention it...
i saw in the DUC that if the serial number of the 002R ends in A to G, power harness could be the problem. the SN of my 002R ends with an H.
i'm going to try tomorrow with a mbox micro just to see if PT launches well and try to recover the sessions files.

Have you gone through some troubleshooting steps?

As it was working fine, I guess it is whether a hardware problem, or more likely some os realted. If the latter one, than download onyx to maintain your os, and trash prefs and databases.

well, I tried with my mbox micro. it worked perfect. super fast launching process and everything was good working on the sessions.
then I tried again with 002R. the launching process was slow and stayed for a while during the peripheral config. then opened, but again once the session was open, I did just a scroll and the rainbow circle appeared. 5 seconds later, PT quitted unexpectedly.
so, I deleted PT preferences, and databases and also did a permission repair to my os disk.
restarted the system, the launching process froze at the "creating DAE objects" and then a message window appeared with DAE error -32736. this is a new one
