Buzzing sound while recording from amp and mixer
Ok, so i was trying to record a drum track using mics to pickup the drums. Those mics were all plugged into a mixer and mixed there. Then the mixer was sent to the Digi002 in sterio(ports 1&2). The problem is, when i turned on the mixer, it had a dull 60cycle hum coming from inside of it. Sure enough, the humm carried over into the digi 002. Fortunatly it was dull enough that it couldn't be noticed.
However, later I tried to record from a Bass Guitar amp using a 24K shielded cable. This also made a 60cycle hum. After messing around i found out that it was coming from the wall socket which was powering the amp. So i switched sockets and the noise reduced, but was still there. Anyway, in the end, i couldn't reduce the sound totally but i reduced it enough to record. My question is this: Is there a way to filter out 60cycle humm frequencies(or any frequencies like that) in Protools??? Thanks for the help |
