Disappearing Audio on Tracks 001

Occasionally I will open a saved session and find that the audio for a certain track is missing.It will still be in the audio files and the track name will still be there,just the audio being dropped. Mac G4 400 , 500+RAM 2HD -1dedicated to sessions.Any Thoughts?
