Default Seagate Medalist on Session 8

I am trying to add a 9 gig Seagate ST39140W Medalist but the Formatter does not recognize it. I am running Session 8 v. 2.5 and the Formatter v 2.0.

Do I format the new drive with FDisk first and partition it before trying to run the Scan SCSI disks on the Formatter? Do I need to partition it with 3gig partitions? or can I use it as one 9 drive?

The Seagate 1.2 gig I had previously worked fine so I don't know why it doesn't see the 9 gig Seagate.

thanks.

Terry
