Creative Collection Error: Run preflight

Hello, I am Receiving an error when trying to install PT 8 onto my brand New Macbook Pro. It states "the following installation step failed: run preflight script for Pro Tools Creative Collection. Contact Software manufacturer for assistance."

I have tried to install each folder individually, up date pro tools, I have the latest OS X on the mac and uninstall and reinstall. But no matter what It will NOT INSTALL.

Mac Book Specs:
4gb DDr3 Ram
320gb memory
Mac Os X 10.6.7

Pro Tools Le 8

You wouldn't happen to have Pro Tools LE 8.0.3 full installer? As this version is the first compatible revision for OS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard).

Yes I believe that is the version on the disk. If it is the revised edition why is it not working correctly. I had an issue installing it onto my new Imac. I believed we updated the Os X and it worked, but this was after we used the "complimentary' phone call to Avid. I dont not remember what it was that we did to get it to work.

That didn't work either. I even dumped some preferences and excess files that I was also told. So I had to reinstall in. Now my Meloydne also doesnt work, it says the license doesnt exsit or sumthing like that and Ive NEVER used it. Just installed it.

Can you re-mount to an ISO image?

I am having the same problem on a 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook. I wiped the hard drive, installed 10.6.3 and did the software update, then tried to install LE 8.0.3. Creating a new user did not help. I'm thinking I will try to re-install Snow Leopard and NOT do the software update before installing Pro Tools. There doesn't seem to be too many people with this problem and thinking some recent update is screwing things up.

I know this thread is old. But I wanted to inform those apart of this debackle. lol That I still have zero success. I've recorded countless sessions and mixed records with zero issues. I'm now trying to try and find an answer over at GS forum. Some would say, if I have done so much work why need it now? Well I paid for it so I want everything to work and function correctly. Not to mention I would like to use the synths and drum machine provided.
