192 Digital I/O... Coreaudio drivers limited?

Hey DUC-

So I'm one of those freaks who likes to use Digital Performer as a front end for my Protools HD 1 system. I need to run in MAS mode in order to use rewire because DP TDM mode doesn't rewire.

In OS 9, DP 3.1 MAS mode, I could only use the first 8 ins and outs on my 192 Digital interface due to the limited "direct i/o" driver.

Apparently in OS 10.2.8/DP 4.1 with Digi's current coreaudio drivers, that is still the case. What's the deal? Is there any way to use all 16 i/o in MAS Mode? Anyone else extremely bothered by this if it is true? I have a $10k system and I can only use half the ins and outs if I want to use Reason and DP?

Yeah, the weird thing is that Digi's Core Audio Driver let's you access all 18 outs of a 001 but only the first 8 of a 192 i/o. Go figure... It's the usual "great" Digi peculiarities...
