Great. Thank you. I want to install 2023.12, but don't want to deal with any HD Driver issues.

Hey all!

We've still not reproduced this issue from our test grid of qualified machines and operating systems.

https://avidtech.my.salesforce-sites...rating-Systems

If you are experiencing issues with the 23.6 through 23.12 HD Drivers on one of these machines, please open a case so we can gather more information, attempt a repro, and get it resolved for you.

You can subscribe to the issue on our Technical Alerts Page, 3rd one down. We also have notifications of this posted on a few other pages as well.

https://avidtech.my.salesforce-sites...ts-and-Updates

As a reminder, the work done on the HD Driver that has caused issues was to improve initial memory allocation for the driver on Apple Silicon. There is currently no feature differentiation between 23.3 and the current release.

As it stands, those of you experiencing an issue will want to stay on 23.3.

Thanks as always all!

Mark

Thanks for the additional info, Mark!
Is there any risk to updating to HD Driver 2023.12 and then downgrading to 2023.3? The HDX card firmware updates are contained within the Pro Tools app, not the HD Driver, correct?

Mark,

It's ANY macOS on a MacPro 5,1 that HD Driver 2023.6, 9 and 12 give the -6001 error on PT launch. I know my macPro 5,1 running Monterey 12.7.2 isn't "supported" but something was broken in .6+.

If you're still experiencing the -6001 error, have you tried uninstalling the Pro Tools Audio Bridge? Does doing so resolve the error?

Thx, but that doesn't help. Still get the error when using the HD Driver 2023.12.1.

Avid contacted me a couple of days ago and did a remote session, took a bunch of logs and said they are looking into trying to get this fixed.
