Default 12.3.1 screwed up my PT install

Warning to the PT community,

I installed 12.3.1. this morning, it screwed up my PT installation.
PT crashes on plugin scan and it seems there are quite a few plugins affected including source connect, various iZotope stuff, Nugen stereoizer and more.

I needed to revert my system.

Where did you find the update download? I see nothing available on the product downloads page nor on the AVID LINK desktop app.

He is referring to macOS 12.3.1 that Apple just released, not Protools. The latest version of Protools is still 2022.12 which Avid recently released updated plugins in the Complete Plugin Bundle to make it compatible with Monterey.

FWIW, I updated to macOS 12.3.1 without any issues and Protools is working fine so far. It DID NOT screw up my PT install as the title of this thread suggest.

Did you upgrade from Monterey 12.3 to 12.3.1? If you upgraded from an earlier version of macOS like Big Sur or Catalina, it might be that the plugins have not been updated to be compatible with Monterey. Check with the developers of the plugins to see if they have an update. For me, all the plugins that worked in Monterey 12.3 also work in Monterey 12.3.1

And just to verify, these plugins (source connect, various iZotope stuff, Nugen stereoizer and more) were working in 12.3.0? If so, you should check with the manufacturer to see why going from 12.3.0 to 12.3.1 would break their plugins. Everybody else here seem to have no problems upgrading to 12.3.1, but they may have have those specific plugins.

Yes PTU started on 12.3.0 without any issues and did not on 12.3.1.
I had to move about 20-30 plugins to the unused folder.
Since working without them is not really an option for me and I am about to start working again in the studio next week I decided to revert the os to Catalina.
