Default Upgraded to PT8 and now can't send MIDI to external synth

I've just upgraded from PT 7.4.2 to PT 8.0.4 - and also from Mac OS10.4 to Mac OS10.6.4. However, whilst I can still send MIDI from my controller keyboard/synth (Korg M3), I now CAN'T get Pro Tools to send MIDI to the keyboard.

I've downloaded and installed what I believe to be the latest drivers from the Korg website and still I can't get PT to send MIDI to it. All internal soft synths work fine and I can use my keyboard to send MIDI to them fine.

I've tried trashing the com.apple.MIDI.#### preference too. The other one suggested by tech support on this forum appears not to exist on my machine.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.
