Default Destructive Punch too destructive!

Hi all,

Destructive punch seems to be leaving a short dead spot (about 20ms) on the punch outs. The in's are clean but I always have a dead spot on the out. Oddly, if I use Post roll the dead spot moves to the end of the post roll and is NOT on the punch out point. Changing post roll moves the dead area a corresponding distance from the out point. This is happening across all punch tracks at the same time, and is not heard until playback (yikes). I have used DP for quite a while without issues but now am seeing this hiccup in every session.

I am using an HD2/8.0cs2/10.5.5 rig. Took a trip to the dumpster with all the prefs but to no avail.

This fix in Pro Tools 8.0cs3 may help:
Quote:
Fixed: Missing audio while recording with Destructive Punch (Item #78780)
After a record pass using Destructive Punch, there may be a waveform present but no audio recorded to disk.

Just had a chance to update, and unfortunately this behavior remains with CS3. However, it seems that if I don't set an outpoint but instead punch out of record or hit stop then it is clean. Not ideal but a workaround for now.
