Stuck Notes when using Sylenth/Spire through Metaplugin or Patchwork

Hi there, very weird annoying problem that I believe has begun in PT 12. I like keeping all my production in PT whenever possible, and have used DDMF's Metaplugin or Blue Cat's Patchwork to load up VSTs and AUs, particularly Sylenth (especially good since Sylenth has finally gone 64bit).

Anyway long story short, since updating to 12, I'm getting constant stuck notes on Sylenth (and Spire for that matter) when those synths are on Instrument tracks via Metaplugin or Patchwork. Playback itself seems to be fine, but stopping playback will cause any notes playing on those synths at the moment I stop to be stuck forever. The only way to unstick them is to completely deactivate the Metaplugin/Patchwork instance and then reactivate again. This didn't happen in PT 11. It's almost like PT is not sending a "note off' message when stopping playback to these synths, causing them to sustain forever...

This has basically rendered using these synths in Pro Tools unusable, and they are a big part of my workflow. Obviously native AAX versions would be ideal, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Anyone else see similar problems, and if so, any advice, tips or ideas?

EDIT: not that I should have to, but I'll mention that these are all paid for/licensed versions of these plugins - no cracked plugin is causing this problem :)

I'm experiencing this with U-he Diva, NI Reaktor and Arturia synths (that I know of), can't comment on MetapluginSynth with Sylenth I'm afraid!

Ugh that's annoying. Are you using all of those as AAX plugins directly in Pro Tools, or are they bridged as VSTs/AUs with some other plugin?

Seems to be a problem with most oscillator based synths, as opposed to "ROMpler"-style, sample based synths (a la Kontakt, Nexus, Xpand, etc). I haven't had this problem with those.

Big bug that should be fixed asap IMHO...

I’ve been having the same problem in 12.4 OSX recently with Sylenth in Blue Cat, Monark (NI) using Komplete Kontrol , various others

I’ve made a blue cat patch with sylenth second and plogue VST first with it’s midi monitor on and passing midi through to Sylenth - no direct host midi to Sylenth

octave pattern, this hangs note in 12.4, i've tested other musical patterns, hangs every few plays or randomly

all midi notes off in PT reports the cc 123 (all notes off) but note still hangs

I also get hangs with setup on aux track controlled by midi track so does not seem to be a instrument track issue

i’ve also got this in 10.3.8 opening this test session, so maybe we need to look elsewhere then just latest 12.4

Getting the stuck note i PT with NI Monark in Reaktor (AAX), most Arturia Synths (AAX) and Spire (both AAX and when hosted in NI Komplete Kontrol as VST).
Can't speak for any other VI's i'm afraid.

Been like this since i can remember.

No idea how to fix it.

I have the same problem with Native Instruments stuff! All legit AAX, Reaktor as well is the one causing the issues.... damn. Glad it's not just me. PT 12.4, I have to re-open the reaktor window, and click on the note that has sustained. Then it stops. Can't figure out what makes it start again, playing the same note doesn't seem to work. I ended up stopping the sustain like that, then commiting the track in the end. Not exactly a great compositional work flow

So is this something that needs to be brought to Avid's attention? Seems like it's multiple synths from reputable manufacturers with this problem. And it's one that has real-world ramifications. I was in a writing session three days ago that I had started in Pro Tools, and the stuck note problem was so intrusive to me and my collaborators that I ditched the session and went to Studio One to keep working. If I were a business I'd want to know that about my products...

Heads up that latest update Sylenth v3.010 seems to have fixed hanging notes in Blue Cat patchwork for me

Yep the latest Sylenth update fixed the issue. Whew! Seems like other synths have this problem so hopefully those developers get to the bottom of it.
