Can't Audition Sounds

I ran into this problem once before, and I found the solution on my own, and it's a really simple solution; I just can't remember what it is. When I have a track record-enabled, I can audition the sound, but when I hit "Play," I can no longer hear the sound I want to audition. I can only hear it if I actually record. I think this is due to me having accidentally hit some kind of shortcut that causes this to happen, but for the life of me, I cannot remember how to get back to being able to audition a sound during playback. Anyone care to remind me?

If you are talking about auditioning from an input (mic/instrument ) just hit the Input monitor button (Green one next to the record arm button)

I'm not sure of the change-history on this, as I've skipped a few PT/OS versions, but essentially, in PT10 we had 'Auto input monitoring' as an item in options menu - and no 'Input' button to toggle between input and playback. At least in PT vanilla. Now the options menu item is gone, and you use the "I" button to toggle.
