I'm not sure how folks are working out what plugins and versions they have installed but I've had a shell script for a while that reports plugin versions and I've cleaned it up and made it available here. http://www.darrylramm.com/plugver/index.html.
plugver.sh is a shell script for Macintosh computers that reports the versions of Pro Tools AAX, RTAS, and TDM plugins installed. You can use it to list the versions of all plugins installed in the default plugin directories, or plugins that have been moved to the "(Unused)" directories, or anywhere else. Or you can just get the version info for one plugin. This is stupidly simple, but I find it useful. I have no idea if there is anything similar kicking around. I'd rather see something *simple* like this provided by Avid, or supported in Pete Gates' PT Prefs. Code:
$ ./plugver.sh ----- /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins ----- Plugin Version ShortVersion Copyright BC Phaser 3 AAX(Mono).aaxplugin 3.3 3.3 SignalGenerator.aaxplugin 19.6.0d370 19.6.0.370 BF-2A.aaxplugin 18.10.0d1452 18.10.0.1452 BBD Delay.aaxplugin 18.10.0d1452 18.10.0.1452 BF-76.aaxplugin 19.6.0d370 19.6.0.370 ...(lines deleted)... Yes it is useful and something that I lost in the transition to 64 bit. I will get it up and running and re-incorporated when I get the chance! But thanks for this in the meantime. Cheers, Pete |

fyi- if you paste the results into a text file, you can use the "import" feature of excel to import and organize. select "fixed width" in the options and it'll separate each row into the proper columns so you can sort by name.
