Fader not responding to touch
Howdy,
Just checking the ProControl I received. A few faders were funky but appear to be OK after some tests. One of them however does not respond to touch at all, it will group, recal and move nicely under all tests but will not respond to touch. Thoughts? If a new fader is needed, are they still available? Re: Fader not responding to touch
I am having this same problem. I use a Procontrol with 3 fader packs and I was having problems with many of the faders. Going through a bunch of the recalibration utility options seems to have fixed a lot of the faders that weren't responding, but there is 1 fader that moves properly, but doesn't respond with touch sensitivity. I can feel the motor fighting me if I try to make a move.
Has anybody out there had a similar problem and remedied it? It would be awesome to have the whole PC working tip top here at the studio again. |

Re: Fader not responding to touch
I replaced my faulty faders, it was very easy to do. You can find faders on ebay.

Re: Fader not responding to touch
put the unit(s) in utility mode and
press test then fader then press recal very fast for as much as you can (as much as a thousand time is OK) that should take care of it ,if not time to have Avid refurbished them I have an extra one sealed from the factory if you need one

Re: Fader not responding to touch
I did do the Recal button quite a bit. It was able to fix many of the faders that were not responding, but left a single fader on one of the fader packs still not responding to touch and fighting me.
I will try going crazy on it and letting it go like 1000 times if you think that May help. I am also going to try just restarting all of the units. Let them sit off for a while then turn them back on and Recalibrate again. There isn't an easy way to turn on/off all of the units since the power switches are all hidden on the back, so it gets left on all the time |

Re: Fader not responding to touch
Try pulling the fader cap off and seeing if touching the raw contact improves things. If it does, clean out the slot inside of the fader - and also the connector it attaches to. A piece of very fine emery paper would work. Be very gentle and careful with dust. Recal afterwards.
