for a record deck you need a phono input. It is a completely differnt impeadence to line in. Line in only gives you a 20db gain and phono is an 80db boost I think. Thats why you can't hear it.

GUys, Mbox2 PRO has a set of RCA inputs for turntables. I suspect operator error here. Review the manual and try to find DIGIFLIX as they have some great tutorial videos to get a newbie up and running.

Well, the mbox2 Pro already has phono inputs ready to go, meaning you shouldn't need another 'phono preamp' between the deck and the mbox. All this info should be in your manual or getting started guide. If you plan on using the main pres or line level inputs then yes, you will need the little black box (phono pre) between turntable and interface.

I bet you will find that the phono inputs on an MBox2 are balanced inputs for a tape deck, minidisk player or CD player so will be at +20db and not for a record deck which needs +80db which I said earlier. Because if you plug a CD player into one that is set for a record deck it would flat top and Digi would get 1000's of complaints everyday.

comprodman,
Maybe you should review the specs on the MBox 2 Pro and get back to us. You'll notice that it has a separate phono (turntable) input complete with ground. This is a new feature.

thirdeyebling,
Have you assigned the input in the mixer window? I haven't used the MBox 2 Pro, but I imagine that there is a different input setting for the phono input. The default input is Analog 1. Someone who has experience with this interface should chime in.

Do you have the Source Selector for the Aux In set to Phono? (Front panel button to the left of Input 1 should be pushed in.)

What inputs are you selecting on your tracks in Pro Tools LE? (Should be Inputs 3&4.)

Have you turned up the Aux Input Gain knob?

P.S. The Phono inputs on the Mbox 2 Pro are indeed phono level inputs.
