Also, something kind of funny, I just read the compatibility page for Pro Tools LE 7.1 and they haven't got mbox 1 listed as compatible. It says the mbox 2 is, though.

It's funny, because I'm using the mbox 1 and PT LE 7.1(cs8) perfectly. I wonder what their testing employees actually do with the time they work. Just because you're pimping out mbox 2 now doesn't mean that mbox 1 is obsolete yet

This is what keeps poping up. The host smtp could not be found please verify that you have entered the server name correctly account pop2. Server smtp Protocal SMTP, Port 25, Secure(SSL)NO. Socket Error...

Of course you can work on ideas and record quick sketches on the Mbox ! Way better than semi -pro gear 10 years ago

Although having both could shave off a few years of getting there
Simple, really:
-talent/experience/track record
-a true, honest and nothing else matters approach/desire to make it. That would include being lonely, sometimes hungry, busy with constant learning, etc...
