Default POD vs. SansAmp

Hey everyone,

I am still new to this forum, but I have done some reading up on old posts, and I have noticed that it seems alot of the guitarists on here dig the POD. I went to Mars music and played the POD, and I thought it was pretty cool. I was just wondering if any of you guys have played through a Tech 21 SansAmp. I have been listening to the sample mp3's they have on their website, and I think it sounds really good. Check it out at Tech 21 There are a bunch of different SansAmp products and a ton of sample mp3's but the one that has the most sample mp3's is PSA-1. Looks to be comparable to the POD Pro. What do you guys think? More or less "real sounding" than the POD?

Hey Wade,
I've got a Pod Pro. I like it. Personally I think it's a lot nicer than the standard Pod.

I agree with the Vampire though. It's nice to play something really real once in awhile.

I like both, but if I had to own just one, I would choose the POD... Does that help?

Go with the Pod or one of their Amps. I have the Flextone II XL and it cranks. Name a tone and I can find it.

Wow! I wasn't expecting everyone to like the POD the best. So you guys think the POD is more real sounding than the Tech 21 SansAmp huh? Anyone else care to put their .02 in?

As for buying a Line 6 amp, I dont know about that, the ease of recording is one thing, but I am confident that you could blindfold me and play a Pod and a Rectifier right next to each other that I could pick which is the recto and which is the POD.

Don't get me wrong, I own both. But I think the POD has more flexibility. I really love the Sans Amp Bass driver. That has great tone. Trust your ears and listen.

Does anyone here dig XTC? On their latest album, Wasp Star, they put nearly everything through the pod, including vocals and keyboards! Damn good sounding record, too.
