Default Does PT 8 support legacy interfaces?

I just installed PT8 on a rig with an Apogee ad-8000se interface attached to the legacy port on the 192i/0. it all works fine in PT7 but PT8 cant see the interface at all.

Have we really lost support for all these old interfaces? or is it a bug, or am i just missing something??

Thanks

Sam

I think it now requires that the legacy interface be turned on after PT is booted
or was it after the computer booted

If you look around the PT8 compatibility doc you will find this info

Run Digi test and see if the Apogee is showing as connected to the 192! also see if the 192 needs a firmware update, as Digi test will tell you which firmware is on the 192 and enable you to update if needed.

I have an 8000se & it works fine with PT 8. I didn't have to do anything different. Not sure how you've had your system set up, but PT has never actually been able to 'see' these devices. You need to click on the legacy button & then choose the 888 interface. PT then 'talks' to the apogee as tho it were an 888. If you haven't changed your connections from PT 7, it should work as it ought to. Hope that helps.....

turns out my clock source was the 192 instead of the sync io. i dont know why but once i changed that the apogee appeared in my io setup.

I had that noise problem with my AD8000. It was a sync issue. As you are using the Sync I/O as the master clock check the front panel of the AD8000 and make sure your sync source is set to wordclock.
