Default (Try this again)-PT10 Crashes At Startup

Ok- I'm running a basically new Mac Mini that is maxxed out with ram, speed, etc.. I have OS 10.3.7 and PT10. I also have PT11 on the same computer and am using an Antelope Orion as converters.
PT11 will open and work just fine but for some reason PT10 has never opened since purchasing 10 and 11 back in August. PT10 crashes while loading plugins. There is a long list of stuff that pops up when this happens. Somewhere near the top of the popup it says "Exception- EXC BAD ACCESS"

I understand that there are many things that can cause this and I'm looking for a few things to try. I haven't yet purchased or installed any outside plugins so I don't think that's it.

Thanks-

Ok, I just found where if it says this(which it does)-

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000000

It can mean bad RAM. Anybody ever heard of this?

You're running OSX Panther - that's OS 10.3.7? Are you sure you didn't mean PT 10.3.7? And what version of OSX do you have? You're going to need something like OSX 10.8.4 or so.

Repair permissions and if that doesn't help check your ram - it may be going bad or you don't have the proper ram in it. We need more info on your system other than just saying it's maxed out with this that and the other thing. Have you done all the Avid recommended optimizations? Working with a separate non-green audio record drive? Without all that done that nice Antelope Orion is just an expensive paperweight.

You say PT 10 hasn't opened since you got PT 11? Did PT 10 ever work before? And do you have the proper license asset(s) on your iLok for both 10 and 11?

The iLok is a good call. PT10 does show up when I open the iLok License Manager.

Try syncing your iLok and see what happens.

This looks like the application has either been given an invalid memory address or used unprotected or non - allocated memory. It is unlikely that the RAM has failed in a brand new computer, however to allay you fears, you can check by performing an Apple hardware test (Be mindful of non genuine "Apple RAM" lol).

A full log would be more helpful, as we could then determine what is causing the crash, not just the exception type.

Upon trying to sync iLok I get a popup telling me that I don't have internet connection- which of course isn't true. This could be presenting a problem.

And here is the first 1/3 or so of the report when PT10 crashes. The full report was way too long for the forum allowance. Thanks to both of you for helping-
