Default MBox compatible with Midiman midi USB?

It's suggested not to use other USB connections when using MBox, but I still want to ask:

Is Midiman (via USB) a viable way to use MIDI with ProTools & MBox?

If it's not, how is MIDI to be connected when using an MBox since there is no MIDI connection on it?
