Video Cut Detection
from the Nuendo 10 release notes "Nuendo 10 now includes Video Cut Detection for analyzing videos for edits and setting markers automatically."
I have been wanting this in Pro Tools for so long. I know it can be done when loading MC media, but for all of those Premiere and Resolve projects, this feature would be so useful. I'm in too deep to switch platforms any time soon, but it's good to see serious competition to PT Ultimate.

Re: Video Cut Detection
I didn't know that. Thanks for sharing. That's a huge feature I didn't see the last time I was on the Cargo Cult website. Cool.

Re: Video Cut Detection
It can also dig you out of a hole when you have no video edl and you get a recut by comparing two picture sources.
It’s not perfect, but if you have nothing it can be a lifesaver Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Re: Video Cut Detection
Resolve can do this as well. I've only tried it once but it was decent.

Re: Video Cut Detection
Resolves "Scene cut detection" does a very good job IMO and you can step through the suggested cuts after it's Analysis pass confirming or modifying any of its cuts. (It can get get several false cuts around dissolves and some transitions.) Relatively simple to use IMO and well documented in the Resolve manual.

Re: Video Cut Detection
You can create clips on a PT track showing where each scene starts and ends with EdiLoad. The clips are named with the scene number and description from a PDF script. Here's a video showing the process:

Re: Video Cut Detection
So, from what I understand, Nuendo and Resolve will Analyze the video file and determine scene cuts Automatically.
Ediload and Conformalizer need an EDL to do this. Which is cool but not as cool as the Resolve/Nuendo thingy. Is this right? |
