Default Midi Merge bug

Hello everybody,

In april of 2014 I replied to this thread (http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=334005) considering a bug in ProTools that makes the behavior of the sustainpedal while recording in PT with Midi Merge activated go strange to such an extend that I cannot play pianoparts in PT with merge swich on.

I am now on 12.3 and this bug still hasnt been fixed.

My workaround is creating a second miditrack with the output set to the same as the original one and record on that one. Ik works, but it would be more elegant if Avid would do something about this bug, so I thought it might be worth a shot posting about this once again. This time in the PT12 forum.

Anyone having the same issues, or maybe not having them?

Sincerely,
Peter

I deal with it daily. I've just learned to live with it and do the additional editing required. It's simply a problem they have overlooked for some time now.

So annoying. Another thing that makes me wonder if any body at Avid actually uses PT.
