Default Mastering tracks

I have a question about Mastering tracks. After I have all tracks recored, EQ'd, have the effects I want per track, do I then bounce the track and import it to a separate PT file for final mastering? There is very little information I can find online of the whole Mastering process. Any information or tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

Izotope produced a very informative free eBook on Mastering with Ozone that I found useful, even if you are not using Ozone:
